The request
Our client wanted a detailed model of the BRP Diego Silang (FFG-7), one of the Philippine Navy’s newest warships. There was no ready-made file to start from, so we designed the ship ourselves from the ground up.
Modeling every detail
We modeled even the smallest parts, including the radar systems, the naval guns and the propellers beneath the hull. One of our own favorite details is the miniature Philippine flag flying on the ship.
A display case made for the ship
We also designed a custom display case shaped to fit the warship perfectly. Magnets are embedded in the bottom of the ship and inside the case, so the model stays securely in place. We added magnets to the top of the case as well: once the ship is taken out, it can sit neatly on top with a satisfying snap.
Our first ship from scratch
This was our first time modeling a ship completely from scratch. We took on the challenge because we wanted to bring our client’s vision to life, and it took many rounds of test prints, adjustments and careful refinement to get there. The result is something both our client and our team are truly proud of.
Thank you to our client for trusting us with such a special custom order and for giving us the chance to take on this challenge.
