Frequently Asked Questions
AK3DLabCebu provides 3D modeling and 3D printing from our workshop in Mandaue City. We work with businesses, engineering students, designers and hobbyists across Metro Cebu, with local delivery or pickup.
We accept STL, OBJ, STEP and IGES files for direct printing. If you don't have a 3D file, send us a sketch, a photo, or the measurements of the part and our designers will build the model for you.
Every file gets looked at before we quote. We check wall thickness, how the part should be oriented, whether it fits our build plate, and where supports will be needed. If something would print badly, we tell you what to change and why — before you have paid anything.
Tell us what the part is for and we will recommend one. As a rough guide: PLA is the default for display pieces, models and gifts, where appearance matters most. PETG handles heat, moisture and stress better, so it suits parts that go outdoors or carry a load. TPU is rubbery and bends without cracking, which works for grips, seals and protective covers. If you are unsure, choose “Not sure” on the form and describe how the part will be used instead.
Yes. You can specify the colour you want, and multi-colour pieces are possible too. Tell us which section should be which colour when you send your inquiry, and we will confirm what is achievable and whether it changes the price before we start.
Yes, we offer laser engraving. Please send us your design file and the finished size you would like. Some surface types or very fine linework may not engrave cleanly. If we think the result may not meet expectations, we will let you know in advance rather than deliver something disappointing.
Printing starts at PHP 160 per print hour with a PHP 150 minimum. CAD design, if you need it, is quoted separately from PHP 500. Use our cost estimator for a rough figure before you send an inquiry.
Treat it as a ballpark, not a final figure. The estimator works from print hours alone, so it cannot account for your model's geometry, support requirements or finishing. Once we have opened your file we send a firm quote. You approve that quote before anything is printed, and the amount does not go up afterwards.
We accept cash, GCash and bank transfer. Payment terms are confirmed together with your quote, so you will know both the amount and the timing before production begins.
You can walk away from a quote at any time before you approve it. No charge, no explanation needed. Once you have approved it we may have already bought material or started your job on a machine, so message us as early as you can and we will sort out something fair based on how far the work has gone.
Most small parts such as brackets, gear replicas and decorative pieces are finished within 24 to 48 hours. Larger projects and bulk orders depend on our current queue and total part volume; we confirm a firm date with your quote.
We use Lalamove and Maxim for same-day delivery across Metro Cebu, including Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City and Talisay. Pickup at our workshop is also available by arrangement, and we ship nationwide via standard couriers.
Yes. Client files are used only to produce your order and are never shared or reposted without your permission. If your project is sensitive, tell us and we will confirm the terms in writing before you send any files.
